Getting to the Soo

From Michigan (starting at Sault Ste. Marie) to Stokely Creek Lodge:

Take the International Bridge and clear Customs. Make sure to have cash on hand as this a cash-only toll bridge. Also make sure to download and fill out ArriveCAN before crossing the bridge. Once you've cleared customs, take two immediate rights onto Huron Street, then Queen Street. Turn right onto Carmen's Way. When Carmen's Way dead-ends, turn right onto Second Line, also marked as Ontario Hwy 550. Turn left onto Great Northern Road, following signs for Highway 17 N/W towards Thunder Bay and Searchmont. Continue straight on the road as it becomes Highway 17. After the A.C.R. Bridge and the Anglican Church Road, turn right onto Old Highway 17, following the blue signage for Stokely Creek Lodge. (Do not turn onto Old Highway 17 prior to the Anglican Church Road.) If you miss Old Highway 17, exit right onto Mahler Road and then turn left onto Old Hwy 17 when Mahler dead-ends. From Old Highway 17, follow the signs for Stokely Creek Lodge.

From Michigan (International Bridge) to the Delta Hotels by Marriott - Sault Ste. Marie WaterfrontTake the International Bridge and clear Customs. Make sure to have cash on hand as this a cash-only toll bridge. Also make sure to download and fill out ArriveCAN before crossing the bridge. Once you've cleared customs, turn right onto Huron Street. Make a left in relatively quick order onto Bay Street, then turn right onto St. Mary's River Drive. Pass the mall. The hotel will be on your left once St. Mary's River Drive turns away from the river.

From Toronto, Ontario to Stokely Creek Lodge:

Take King's Highway 400 north from Toronto via Barrie. Highway 400 becomes Highway 69. Just before Sudbury, take the exit for Highway 17 West towards Sault Ste. Marie. Just before Sault Ste. Marie, the highway splits into a road going straight and the continuation of Highway 17 N/W towards Thunder Bay. Turn right here, staying on Highway 17 North. Continue to follow signs for Highway 17 N/W towards Thunder Bay as it turns left, then right. After Sault Ste. Marie, Highway 17 returns to its rural format. After the A.C.R. Bridge and the Anglican Church Road, turn right onto Old Highway 17, following the blue signage for Stokely Creek Lodge. (Do not turn onto Old Highway 17 prior to the Anglican Church Road.) If you miss Old Highway 17, exit right onto Mahler Road and then turn left onto Old Hwy 17 when Mahler dead-ends. From Old Highway 17, follow the signs for Stokely Creek Lodge.

Travelling within the Soo​

From the Delta Hotels by Marriott to Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront to Stokely Creek Lodge
Exit the hotel parking lot to turn left onto St. Mary's River Drive. Pass the mall. When St. Mary's River Drive is separated by a meridian, keep going straight to stay on Gore Street. (Keep going straight past the Bay Street traffic signal.) Gore Street dead-ends into Wellington; turn left on Wellington, then immediately turn right onto North Street. (If you miss North Street, keep going to Carmen's Way, turn right, and follow Carmen's Way until it dead-ends, then turn right onto the Second Line, and pick up these directions from there.) Take North Street to its end, thenturn right onto Second Line, also marked as Ontario Hwy 550. Turn left onto Great Northern Road, following signs for Highway 17 N/W towards Thunder Bay and Searchmont. Continue straight on the road as it becomes Highway 17. After the A.C.R. Bridge and the Anglican Church Road, turn right onto Old Highway 17, following the blue signage for Stokely Creek Lodge. (Do not turn onto Old Highway 17 prior to the Anglican Church Road.) If you miss Old Highway 17, exit right onto Mahler Road and then turn left onto Old Hwy 17 when Mahler dead-ends. From Old Highway 17, follow the signs for Stokely Creek Lodge.

From Stokely Creek Lodge to the Delta Hotels by Marriott - Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront

Exit Stokely Creek, turning left onto Old Highway 17 and following it to the (new) Highway 17, turning left on the highway to follow the Trans-Canada back to Sault Ste. Marie. Follow Highway 17, staying straight on it as it becomes Great Northern Road. Past McNabb, turn right onto Bruce Street, following signs for the USA. (Mind the turn-only lanes once on Bruce Street!) Do not take the right turn onto Wellington; keep going down Bruce until the next block, Albert Street, then turn left. After the first block, Elgin Street, turn right, then keep straight onto Elgin as it becomes St. Mary's River Drive. The entrance to the hotel parking lot will be on your left.

Leaving the Soo​

From Stokely Creek Lodge to Michigan (Sault Ste. Marie):

Exit Stokely Creek, turning left onto Old Highway 17 and following it to the (new) Highway 17, turning left on the highway to follow the Trans-Canada back to Sault Ste. Marie. Follow Highway 17, staying straight on it as it becomes Great Northern Road. Past McNabb, turn right onto Bruce Street, following signs for the USA. (Mind the turn-only lanes once on Bruce Street!) Turn right onto Wellington. At the first traffic light, make a soft left onto Cathcart. Turn left onto Huron. The entrance to the International Bridge is immediately after Albert Street. Make sure to have cash on hand before crossing the border as this a cash-only toll bridge.

From Stokely Creek Lodge to Toronto, Ontario:

Exit Stokely Creek, turning left onto Old Highway 17 and following it to the (new) Highway 17, turning left on the highway to follow the Trans-Canada back to Sault Ste. Marie. Follow Highway 17, including turning left as Highway 17 branches off of Great Northern Road -- follow signs towards Sudbury and Ottawa. Turn right at the dead-end, continuing to follow signs for the Highway 17 East. Continue onto the Highway 17 East by turning left immediately after  the Lyons Timber Mart - Black Road. Follow Highway 17 E to Sudbury. At Sudbury, turn right, taking Highway 69 towards Toronto. Highway 69 becomes Highway 400, which goes to Toronto via Barrie.

From the Delta Hotels by Marriott to to Michigan (Sault Ste. Marie)

Exit the hotel parking lot to turn left onto St. Mary's River Drive. Pass the mall. When St. Mary's River Drive is separated by a meridian, keep going straight to stay on Gore Street. (Keep going straight past the Bay Street traffic signal.) At the next signal, Queen Street, turn left. From Queen, turn right onto Huron Street at the signal, then move into the left turn lane. The entrance to the International Bridge is before Albert Street. Make sure to have cash on hand before crossing the border as this a cash-only toll bridge.
